Offered up as a double video directed by Quinn Wilson (fans of Self Esteem might raise an eyebrow at certain points), both 'Too Bad' and 'Cursed' are on KP's upcoming second album Hold On Baby, out 29/07 via Mark Ronson’s Zelig Records/ Columbia Records.
Introducing the project, King Princess says: “I’m not one thing. I’m not sure I like myself, but I’m figuring it out. Hold On Baby is a search for a new heartbreak. It’s a love letter to my girlfriend. It’s a firm read of myself. And it’s a reminder of the totems in my life that give me hope; my dog who is my fiercest companion and the owl that represents my grandparents.”
Already a queer hero in many respects, these latest King Princess tracks are infinitely consumable alt pop with genuine emotion at their core.
The Hold On Baby Tour will be kicking off next month across North America.
