Taken from their Googoo EP out 01.12.14 via Bleepmachine, 'The Middle' has got us all whistling.
Bosco Rogers' debut track has a strangely restrained power behind it. The shuffling beats, rolling melody and, well, the whistling are juxtaposed against the rumbling seventies fuzz in the guitar. The rest of the EP will apparently be no different, with the same psychedelic influences and classic rock riffs shining through summer of love melodies and garage band rhythms.
Although the Bosco Rogers aesthetic feels firmly proto/ flower punk, there's something of nineties Brit pop ingrained underneath their mellowed out take on freak beat. Whatever it is, it's insanely listenable and we can't wait to hear the rest of their Googoo EP.
