Barringtone - The New New

Like a reimagining of the Super Mario underground zone, Barringtone's 'The New New' is wonky, nostalgia-heavy and keytar-tastic.

Produced by Nick Howiantz (of, friends of Raw Meat, Brixton Hill Studios), 'The New New' is a near-five-minute barrage of off kilter synth stabs and fast-paced polyrhythms. It's ideal if you're feeling nostalgic for mid naughties alt-math, but always thought it was missing an electric dance spin. Which I'm sure you all are.

The amazingly named Barry Dobbin, formerly of Clor, currently of Barringtone, describes 'The New New' thusly; "Absorbed by lockdown fever-dreams, confronted by our myriad hopes and fears but denied the infantilising illusions promoted by consumerism, might we eventually emerge and find solace in nature - or an acceptable simulation thereof.....?" Well then.

It's out tomorrow, via Onomatopoeia.
