It’s no lie that we at Raw Meat are partial to a bit of good, noisy rock music, so when a partnership with Superfriendz arose for a festival dedicated SOLELY to the best rock the UK has to offer, we of course, jumped at the chance.
This Easter Sunday sees the launch of the Raw Meat All Dayer, an annual event taking place at two of Leeds most loved and respected venues, Headrow House and Belgrave Music Hall. The festival has a strong focus on promoting rock, as well as local talent in the area. With that in mind, it makes sense to get Dinosaur Pile Up, one of the finest bands to come out of Leeds, to come back and headline the festival. Off the back of their third album Eleven Eleven, DPU’s success has sky-rocketed and their live shows have become even more formidable. It’s about time the trio were topping bills, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them at our All Dayer.
On top of Dinosaur Pile Up, the loud and fuzzy duo, God Damn are also on the line up. Recognised for their unrelenting noise and phenomenal live performances, these guys are not to be missed. Speaking of live shows, HECK will do nothing less than blow your mind. The infamous quartet are renowned for their stage presence, and maybe slightly feared. Their reputation as a live act includes climbing on top of festival tents, landing in swimming pools and generally breaking everything in sight. HECK are a rarity; they embrace the true nature of punk, and with their debut album afoot, it’s going to be a messy one indeed.
From a metal act, to one that can invoke heartfelt singalongs at the flick of a switch, Scottish lads The Xcerts will be on the Raw Meat All Dayer. Like Dinosaur Pile Up, The Xcerts are one of those bands that have got better and better with every album: they’ve matured with age, like a fine cheese. Their shows are full of passion and adrenaline that can’t be contained. As well as established acts like The Xcerts, there are PLENTY of new acts to get your teeth in to; local lads Fizzy Blood being one of them – think rock n roll with a dirty streak. We highly recommend.
That’s just a handful of acts on the line up, take a look at the incredible poster (artwork by Tom Hudson of Pulled Apart By Horses) to have a nosy at all the other bands booked. If that wasn’t enough, Pulled Apart By Horses will be there doing a DJ set, alongside us chaps in Raw Meat. So if you’ve made plans for Easter Sunday, cancel them, make you way to Leeds and get ready for a big party.
