Raw Meat Live: Worst Place + Ich bin Finn

Ladies, gentlemen and everyone in between, the time has come. Our first ever Raw Meat Live is kicking off next week!

As you can probably imagine, we’re pretty smacking excited. And with members of our core staff either originating from or living in and around Walthamstow, it only felt right that we support the amazing artist community and grassroots venues over in East London.

You don’t get much more grassroots than The Victoria. An amazing old school boozer, The Vic’s been there for donkeys’ and has always supported local events. From label showcases, club nights and cabaret, to bands, brawls and LGBT+ events, it’s easily our favourite dive. We owe them big for letting us crash.

Another local hero, Nic of Rentertainment and Live Live! Events supplies all of our hardware – fancy lights, amps, kits and noisemakers. The awesome Tuttlebee Studios do the artwork for our posters. And we’re also sponsored by the awesome punk legacy of PBR beer, to whom we are eternally grateful for keeping our bands lubricated.

First up we have Ich bin Finn. An ever-evolving collective of musicians revolving around songwriter/ guitarist/ vocalist Finn. You can expect lyrically punchy songs that straddle genres from rhythm n blues to balls out punk. And deliver them with a shit-eating grin and tongue-firmly-in-cheek.

We’re raved about headliners and Leytonstone locals, Worst Place before, so it felt pretty fitting that we should offer them our Raw Meat Live cherry. Their dreamy fuzz-ridden pop leans towards shoegaze, but never settles on it, with feather-touch vocals dancing around lax riffs and bashful beats.

Then we'll have Velvetparisis DJs spinning the best seventies tracks you've never heard right up until we all get kicked out. Perfect.

It's free entry, there will be merch and we can't wait to see you there.

NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK, BUT LEAVE A COMMENT ANYWAY

Primavera 2022, somewhat of a bumper year. A double rollover. Plus the return to the midweek city-based shows, means things are bigger and better than ever.

A double rollover means the biggest festival to date, with not one weekend, not two weekends, but an additional midweek lineup to boot.

Last week already seems like a different age, full of carefree optimism.
