Directed, photographed and edited by Christopher Good, he and the band manage to put their own spin on an idea that has been used and overused when it comes to story lines involving a character and their ex. Throughout the video for ‘Bad Trip’, lead singer, Marie Parker, envisages her ex in every person and everything that passes her by, but don’t let the obvious plot put you off. The soft sounds of Parker’s vocals fit the storyline and the added animation, making it more visually and emotionally interesting. Good does an excellent job in ensuring that the video doesn’t look over-produced, fitting in with the natural, melodic sounds of Secret Cities.
Their third album Walk Me Home was released this week on Western Vinyl.
