Shuffling drums, waves of distant guitars bouncing around your skull and despondent vocals. 'Devastating Fool' lives up to its name in a wash of hopeless romanticism.
After carving their unique sound on their debut EP, the band's Suck It Up debut LP is one of the few cases where 'highly anticipated' should actually be used (by us, at least). In true Roadkill Records style, there will be a release party at London's Shacklewell Arms, 24/08/18.
Londoners via Essex and Mexico, De Avis and Marc Crane bonded over their mutual love of cult horror movies and classic psychedelia, both of which can be heard dripping from the ceilings of Muertos' dark, echoing cave. 'Devastating Fool' is one of the more calm (read as 'unsettling') moments on the record, which is otherwise packed with feedback, cowboy riffs and cinematic aural pause.
You can see the band live at the below dates:
24/08/18 - The Shacklewell Arms, London (album launch)
16/09/18 - Astral Elevator Psych Weekender, Manchester
