Mysteries - 'Newly Thrown' music video

Mysteries are what they say on the tin. As told in the dialogue of this arty silent-film style video, “they have no interest in revealing their identity, it's all about the music...”

Mysteries originate from Los Angeles, and came onto the music scene with their debut album New Age Music Is Here. As well as being anonymous to their listeners, even their record label have never seen them face to face. In this video you follow a brief meeting between a man and a woman, one seems to be part of Mysteries' record label, and the other, a strange man with vision for a potential video concept. You'd be entitled to think that emotional theatrics would distract audiences from the music yet Mysteries' eerie but powerful sound is a beautiful soundtrack to the scene.

Their lyrics intertwine with the video towards the end when the man reinstates what Mysteries are almost chanting, “It could be all you want / You just need to take a chance.” This clever video gives fans an insight to the band's ethos, aesthetic, and shows how diverse their creative abilities really are.
