Wold Solent's melodic lo-fi is charming, simple and has the ability to appeal to modern folk and fuzz-heads alike. Danny Trew Barton is one of those multi-instrumentalist bedroom recording artists made good. He makes music that lies somewhere between slacker rock and psychedelic folk. The sixties vibes run through the organ and the rolling melodies, but his vocal delivery and the chord progressions bring his sound right back to the twenty-first century. 'Running Gap' is the simplistic opener to EP // 2 and it sets the tone for his non-vocal-focused, riffy writing style.
