The DAs were one of the artists that played my band's EP launch towards the end of May, and when I spoke to Olly Robinson, the band's drummer and the producer of their debut single 'Fine Thanks, You?', I assumed he was joking when he told me it was their first gig.
The live show was tight, exciting and they played a set full of clearly fresh, wobbly pop gems. Vocalist and song writer Jamie Spencer's vocals and rhythm guitar chops combined with an inexperienced charm that was... well, charming, while the lead guitarist/ synth player let his instruments often fill in for the role of backing vocals. The single is being self-released tomorrow (21/06/16), and is one of their slower, more captivating songs. We're certainly going to be keeping tabs on this lot.
